I have been abused

Our clinics are safe spaces where we encourage you to discuss any issues that are affecting you now, or sometimes there may be things that have happened in the past that you would like to discuss with someone.

If someone is making you feel:

  • Hurt
  • Frightened
  • Controlled
  • Or you are being asked to do things that make you feel uncomfortable

We have experienced practitioners that can talk to you, and we can signpost you to other organisations that could help you.

We are a confidential service, and will not contact others without your consent. The only times we might break confidentiality is if we believe you are at risk of serious harm, or others are at risk of serious harm. This situation is rare.

Clinic 26

Clinic26 is a safe place for men who have experienced historic sexual abuse, sexual assault or rape.

At Clinic26 we offer sexual health tests, sexual wellbeing services and input from an independent sexual violence advisor in a supportive environment. Clinic26 is a service run by Barts Health in partnership with SurvivorsUK

If you attend Clinic26, you will not be made to talk about anything that you do not want to talk about. We will assure you of your anonymity when you access this service but if you don’t have to give us your real name you don’t want to.

Female genital mutilation (FGM)

Female genital mutilation (FGM) is a procedure where the female genitals are deliberately cut, injured or changed, where there's no medical reason for this to be done. It's also known as "female circumcision" or "cutting".  FGM can cause a lot of on-going pain and make it difficult to have or enjoy sex. FGM is illegal in the UK.

If you would like to speak to someone about FGM, please speak to a member of staff in our clinic.
